Electrical Engineering

NEWBOT

A robot that can move around the farm and measure the surrounding's temperature and humidity from different spots every few seconds. The robot will automatically follow a trail (black line) that lead its way around the location. This is to find the best spot for farmers to grow their plants most effectively.

Our team was nominated for Tan Kah Kee Young Inventors' Award.


Semi-Automatic Watering System

A system that uses siemens to water plants in different stations. User is able to choose if they want to manually water one station at a time or choose to water the plants from multiple stations at once. There is also a user guide page in the Siemens HMI for the users to follow instruction step by step. This project aims to save the amount of water used overall and to reduce the manpower and time required.

Fall Detection Bag

To reduce health risk of elderly in Singapore, my team and I came up with a device that detect the motion of a fall while being a sustainable product. The design is made into a bag attached to the body for comfort and accuracy of the sensor. In the event of a fall, there will be an alert system; buzzing sound and blinking led light to catch attention of nearby people, and notification signal to a phone through an application.

Story Concept:

Once faced by hardship and failure, the ability to get back up and not giving up on one’s goal. This is one of my perspectives of a person’s strength. The story is about a teenage boy wanting to be a champion in a sport. It started off with him participating in his first competition but ended up losing and became depressed. His teammates reached out to him and lend him the strength he needed to get back on his feet. In the end, he finally managed to win gold medal in his next competition.
